Acquisition News: Crocker Museum adds major work to permanent collection

ACQUISITION NEWS: Sacramento, CA – The Estate of Mimi Chen Ting and Artist Estate Studio are pleased to announce that the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, California, has acquired Ting's painting Red Madonna and Child for its permanent collection. Louis Stern Fine Arts facilitated the acquisition, and the painting was purchased with funds provided by Simon K. Chiu. The work is currently on view at the BYU-Museum of Art, part of the Mimi Chen Ting retrospective “Make Movement Visible” on view through October 10, 2026.
The Estate is grateful to the Crocker Art Museum for welcoming Ting's work into its collection, to Louis Stern Fine Arts for its commitment to her legacy, and to Simon K. Chiu for his generous support. This acquisition helps ensure that Mimi Chen Ting's voice will continue to reach new audiences in California, where she lived and worked for so much of her life.
